Install and support

Facedown runs in Google Chrome. Setup takes about 15 minutes for the admin.

1. Sign in

After you pay, sign in at app.facedownlabs.com/login with the email you paid with. We email you a link. Only the buyer can sign in.

2. Install for everyone

Your admin page has a block of settings with your firm ID and enrollment token. Keep it private.

Google Admin. Go to Devices, Chrome, Apps & extensions. Add Facedown from the Chrome Web Store, set it to Force install, and paste the settings into Policy for extensions.

Macs with a device manager. Email us and we'll send a profile for Jamf, Kandji, or Mosyle that also adds tamper protection.

The Chrome Web Store link goes live at launch on Oct 31.

3. Test it

Open ChatGPT in Chrome and paste Test SSN 123-45-6789. Facedown should stop it, and the event shows up on your admin page.

Other browsers and AI apps

Facedown covers Chrome only. Safari, Firefox, Edge, and AI desktop apps like ChatGPT and Claude are not checked. Block them with your device manager and make Chrome the default browser. On a Mac, use a configuration profile. On Windows, use Group Policy or Intune with AppLocker. We haven't tested the Windows steps yet. Email us for the details.
